Hello from Whistler, Canada!

20151218_152951-01Hello everyone from Whistler, Canada – we are here skiing for couple days, enjoying lots of snow (18 inches of new snow). After tomorrow, we are heading to Kamloops, Revelstoke National Park, and Glacier National Park. Following that, we are heading to Yoho, Banff, and then Calgary.

We spent 2 days skiing at Whistler, and then explored a little bit in the area on our way towards Lillooet, Canada as a stopover on our way to Revelstoke, and eventually over to Yoho and Banff area in Alberta. When we were at Whistler, there was A LOT of snow. It snowed about 18 inches over the two nights we were there, so the skiing was amazing, the best snow we have ever ridden on. Tons of fresh powder, untouched, and the backcountry was like nothing else.

We spent all of our time on Whistler mountain at Harmony Express on the first day, and then our 2nd day we spent most of our time hitting up the Peak Express. The visibility wasn’t the best, and there was some snowfall going on throughout the day. Yana killed it and did a great job skiing. Timon, well, let’s just say there was a lot of falling going on. The first time with THAT much fresh powder, its not easy going down bowls backcountry. It was a blast, some of the best skiing we have done.

After Whistler, we headed North on Highway 99 to Pemberton. There were several lakes and rivers on the side of the road, making it a very scenic drive.

We made a stop at Joffre Lakes, where we didn’t have enough time to hike that much, so we just did the quick hike to Lower Joffre Lake, which was frozen over. The tree’s and snow on the hike there was spectacular, and the lake itself was surreal.

From here, we kept on trucking, to Lillooet for the evening, before continuing the drive to Revelstoke to enjoy even more mountains!
